This series is divided into three sections dealing with Suborders Sauria (lizards) and Ophidia (snakes) under Order Squamata and Order Chelonia. Orders Crocodilia and Rhyncocephalia are not included as the former does not have many species concentrated in any one part of the world, making identification of individuals found easy even for laymen, and the latter only has two extant species.
